ABOUT ROBERT WILSON
For years Robert ran a Graphic Art and Illustration Studio in New York producing Graphic Art, Period Illustrations and Advertising Campaigns. One aspect of his clientele was the range of New York restaurants, each with specific needs. He was called on for custom Art Nouveau illustrations for a Belle Epoch restaurant and later everything from Victorian, German, Dancing Chickens, 50’s Diner Chrome Graphics and Art Deco Brasserie through Celebrity Caricatures for Broadway Super Delis.
Eventually Art Directors for the many films shot daily in New York, requested custom graphic props for film locations from him including replica 1930’s Subway Signs, numerous period Shop Logos, date specific Newspaper replicas, and all types of Historic Signage and Graphics.
The next phase was the one he enjoyed the most…. The New York Real Estate Market with its fierce competition and sky high prices. The best photographers shot interiors for advertising but clients rarely had anything of interest on their walls, certainly nothing with a “Wow factor” rating to make the place pop especially with Art Crazy New Yorkers. He was commissioned to make art replicas for the walls to sell potential buyers with an apartment with Gorgeous Art and the taste they would inherit. Bingo, the sale was made! Now he makes the best of these Master Artist Replicas available to all. This is when he began making Million Dollar Art Replicas to adorn walls.
